Central midfielder Pavel Karasev, who played for FC Tambov from the Russian Premier League last year, signed a contract with FC BATE Borisov.
At the adult level, the career of a native of the Moscow region town of Drezna began counting
from the summer of 2014 - in FC Khimik Dzerzhinsk from the FNL. A year later, he moved to
FC SKA Khabarovsk, which set the ambitious task of winning a ticket to the Premier League. By
the way, before making his debut in the Far Eastern club, Pavel, as part of the Russian student
team, went to the Korean Gwangju for the Summer Universiade. At this tournament, the
Russians performed mediocre (9th place only), but Karasev with four goals became their top
In the season 2015/16, SKA finished far from the stated goals, but a year later it took fourth
place in the FNL and made his way to the elite of the Russian football through play-offs. And he
had to argue with FC Orenburg, whose colors were defended by Mikhail Sivakou, Maksim
Bardachou, Stanislau Drahun and Pavel Niakhaichyk. Both matches ended in zero draws, but the
team from Khabarovsk turned out to be stronger in the penalty shootout.
At the end of the season, as a free agent, Karasev went to FC Anji Makhachkala and already
there made his debut in the Russian Premier League. It is interesting that this was happened on
15th July 2017 in a home match against PFC CSKA Moscow (1:3) led by Viktar Hancharenka.
Alas, Karasev's stay in the Dagestan team was short-lived, and in September he returned to SKA
- this time on loan. He played at the Khabarovsk club until the summer of 2019, after which he
signed a contract with FC Tambov, who won the FNL championship and got a ticket to the top
division. As part of this club, the midfielder played a season and a half.
Welcome to BATE, Pavel!
