Jurica Buljat joins FC BATE

30 year old Croatian Jurica Buljat will reinforce the Yellow-Blues. Today he signed his contract with the Borisovites.

Born in Zadar, Croatia, Jurica Buljat graduated from FC Zadar football school after starting his football education at FC Zemunek football school. He quickly grew through ranks to join FC Zadar first team in 2004. Next step was taken in direction of one of the Croatian top clubs, namely Hajduk Split. There Jurica won even more recognition. Team finished as runners up in 2006/07 season - a result he will achieve several times. Hajduk were close chasers of GNK Dinamo, but failed to win a title.

Buljat's only trophy with Haiduk was Croatian Cup in 2009/10 season. Jurica participated in both final games. And in semifinals the team from Split managed to eliminate GNK Dinamo.

In 2011 Buljat moved abroad for the first time joining Maccabi Haifa FC. He returned to Croatia several times, but always left the country for productive spells at Energi Cottbus, Metallist Kharkiv, Bunyodkor and Pakhtakor Tashkent.

Jurica was a regular option for junior and youth Croatian teams and played two full international games in 2010 for Croatian first team.

His international European includes games in 2010/11 UEFA Europa League Group Stage for Hajduk against FC Zenit Saint-Petersburg, AEK and RSC Anderlecht. In 2011/12 he participated in the same tournament for Maccabi against Schalke-04, AEK Larnaka and Steaua.

He spent first half of 2017 season at Pakhtakor Tashkent and after a trial at BATE joined the club on 20 July.

"I came to FC BATE for titles and trophies. I really liked the atmosphere at the club. All the guys are friendly and ready to help. I did not think long to make this step. BATE is well known for their success in UEFA competitions and this team suits my ambitions best", said Jurica immediately after signing.
