FC BATE
Borisov had no troubles in first leg of last 16 Belarusian Cup against FC
Granit Mikashevichi. The Yellow-Blues scored five goals and made a great
impression as all the strikes were true beauties. It took the home side just 40
minutes to make it 3-0. Dzmitry Mazaleuski headed home a perfect cross by
Maksim Zhaunerchyk, Aliaksandr Karnitski fired with an outstanding long-range
shot and Illia Aleksiyevich crowned it all with a superb combination with a
top-shelf shot in the end.
The second
half seemed to be a pure formality, but BATE did not switch off and scored to
more classy goals. Mazaleuski recorded a double with a quick shot from inside
the box and Mikhail Hardzeichuk netted the fifth with confidence beating the
lonely goalkeeper.
BATE
will play Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Tuesday in UEFA Champions League before
travelling to Mikashevichi for the return game on 29 November.
Aliaksandr YERMAKOVICH (BATE Head Coach):
-
The pitch was a bit difficult, but we managed to do everything we planned up
front. This is important we scored many beautiful goals. But what is also
important, we kept the clean sheet and now have good mood preparing for a very
important game on Tuesday.
