Aleksandr Kobets played important role in BATE squad at the beginning of the century. Versatile midfielder spent six seasons at Borisov Gorodskoi stadium and won the Belarusian championship twice and won the Belarusian Cup once and became a player of Belarusian U-21 team. Kobets arrived to BATE aged 20 in 2001 season.

Ironically 2005 season, which was the worst season for the Yellow Blues in terms of result, was the best for Kobets. In the young squad of Igor Kriushenko Kobets was a true leader. In this team he was both a restless powerhouse as well as most prolific goalscorer, recording 11 goals in 25 matches, which was the best result in the team.

Shorty, but very quick midfielder, who also had terrific predator instinct in front of the net managed to cover all attacking positions in the midfield and deservedly received traditional BATE Player of the Year Award from Borisov region newspaper Adzinstva.

In 2006 season statistically Kobets was not that impressive, but this time BATE managed to win the gold for the third time in history. After this success Aleksandr, at that time 25 years old, moved on to join FC Gomel. "For six years at the club we won a lot of trophies, won two titles and a Cup, and finished in top-3 several times. But still it is a bit sad. It is difficult to part with such a friendly squad and staff", - said Sasha in his last interview as BATE player.

After that Kobets changed several teams in Belarus, playing for FC Gomel, FC Vitebsk, FC Naftan Novopolotsk, FC Slaviya Mozyr.
