In 2008 Aliaksandr sealed BATE's first ever breakthrough to UEFA Champions League group stages in the match against Bulgarian Levski Sofia. In a year he made a clean sheet in a 120-minute second leg match against Bulgarian Litex in Lovech. In that game with extra time Guti made a lot of fantastic saves. In 2010/11 season Aliaksandr played without mistakes in Funchal in a match against CS Maritimo. And in 2011/12 his clean sheet in Graz against SK Sturm meant another UEFA Champions League breakthrough. He is also a prominent member of U-21 Belarusian team that won bronze medal in EURO in 2011 and got qualified for London 2012 Olympics.

Aliaksandr is tall and has perfect goalkeeping reflexes. In childhood Sasha played as a forward. And when at reserves several goals converting spot-kicks.
