The player started footballing at Tractor football school in Minsk where his father Igor was his first coach. After then the youngsters from Tractor were transferred to MTZ-RIPO FC.

He made his debut in 2007 at MTZ-RIPO-2 that played in Belarusian Division 3. Yuri spent his next year playing for PMC Postavy, at that time a farm-club of MTZ-RIPO. 2 august 2009 he first appeared in domestic competitions for MTZ-RIPO first team vs FC Granit Mikashevichi (2-2), but his maiden European match came even earlier when he participated in UEFA Europa League qualifier versus Metallurg Donetsk (1-2).

Kendysh remained with MTZ-RIPO (which was renamed into Partizan soon) until 2011 season. After that midfielder switched for FC Torpedo-BelAZ Zhodino, FC Slaviya Mozyr and FC Dinamo Brest, and managed to record 82 games and 3 goals in the Belarusian Vysshaya Liga.

In 2014 he went abroad to Trakai of Lithuania, who finished fourth in the championship. And last year Kendysh moved to Lithuanian giants FC Zalgiris Vilnius and became Lithuanian Champion. In A Lyga he played 65 matches and scored 10 goals for two seasons.
