When a child tried a lot of different kinds of sport, but in the end understood football was his mission. At the age of 16 he already was in professional football. His career started at Kilikia F.C. in Armenia. During conscription played for Gandzasar and won bronze medal of the Armenian championship. Then Zaven moved to Impuls from Dilijan and there he became a name at home. In 2010 he got a call from U-21 team and in 2011 to the national team. Was invited to BATE's training camp in Spain when the Borisovites were preparing for UEFA Champions League match against Barcelona in Camp Nou, and proved to be worth a contract with Belarusian champions.
BATE in December 2011, but failed to earn a place in the line-up. His total for
two years at the club is 17 games and scored just one goal on 9 November 2013
against FC Torpedo-BelAZ
That was the match in which BATE won their 10th Belarusian title.
