  • When a youngster Nikolić made an impression on Crvena Zvezda scouts, who managed to see a good prospect in a player from a provincial club. Nemanja was invited to Belgrade to continue at the famous school.

    But Nikolić was just a part from a big quantity of players that were trying to make it to Crvena Zvezda. This is why mostly he had to play as a loaned player in other clubs. His career started in 2006 in Spartak from Subotica. After that he made a step forward moving to Montenegrin top flight club Grbalj and managed to come fourth in the national competition.

    After that Crvena Zvezda took him back for the next two years and Nemanja celebrated with Serbian giants several major wins like the national Cup and silver and bronze medal of the Superliga. What is more, Nemanja got an invitation to play for Montenegro national team and accepted it. In 2009 he debuted for the national team in a friendly against Wales. And then played for Montenegrin U-21 team and was regularly called up for the national team.

    Nevertheless, Nemanja did not manage to became a firm starter at Crvena Zvezda. He was loaned again to Spartak Subotica. At the end of 2010/11 season Nikolić moved to OFK Belgrade, where he was a regular feature in the starting line-up, becoming the captain of the team.

    In July 2013 Nikolić moved to Belarus signing with Dinamo Minsk. 2014 season was his climax at the club. Dinamo were close to poach the title from FC BATE and qualified for UEFA Europa League group stage for the first time in their history. Nikolić scored four goals and became the best goalscorer of the team in the tournament. He netted goals against Portuguese Nacional, PAOK and Fiorentina.

    After moving to BATE Nikolić immediately convinced as one of the permanent options in the midfield and scored an important goal against Videoton in UCL 3rd qualifying round. But then was injured in Belarusian El Clasico against FC Dinamo Minsk. After rehabilitation he again was a contender for the first team squad.

    In total versatile player spent half a year in Borisov which turned out quite prolific. He was an important part of Aleksandr Yermakovich's side that took five points in UEFA Champions League Group Stage with FC Barcelona, AS Roma and Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Nikolić scored in all the tournaments he played for BATE.

    3rd February 2016 Nemanja Nikolić completed his move to one of the big names of Israeli football Hapoel Tel Aviv.

    "For me the time at BATE was a great experience. This was the biggest club I ever played for, and I will be following my friends when playing in any team. Hopefully the team will win all the domestic competitions in 2016. I also would like to thank the club and the fans for everything they did for me", Nemanja said after signing with Hapoel Tel Aviv FC.
