Ivanov was raised in kids sports school DUSSCH Stal in Kiev. At the age of 15
he signed his first professional contract with Nafkom Brovary, where he played
for four seasons in third Ukrainian tier. After that he was spotted by BATE
scouts. The Yellow-Blues needed a young shotstopper to compete with Siarhei Veremko and Aliaksandr Hutar. And soon signed an agreement with BATE.
Ivanov did not manage to become an important player in Viktar Hancharenka's side. He
played mostly for the reserves where he had 19 matches for two years and was
mostly a substitute in the first team.
also played their role in Ivanov's unsuccessful BATE story. He was out of the
rotation due to injuries for ten years. 1 June 2011 the player left BATE to
join Prikarpatie Ivano-Frankovsk (Ukraine) and Dinaz Vyshgorod.
