Moreover, BATE did it ahead of schedule and with a large margin, ahead of the nearest pursuer by nine points - and stepping from the third division of the championship of Belarus to the second.

Access to the elite, Ryndyuk's transfer to Lokomotiv Moscow

Defending a title is harder than winning it. In 2000, the '99 champions faced incredible resistance - all rivals tuned in to them with special zeal. And at first, the “yellow-blue” did not succeed at all. But due to heroic efforts, they managed to climb the silver step of the pedestal. And the main personnel news of that season was the transfer of Alexander Gleb to the Bundesliga club Stuttgart.

2006 was a significant year for FC BATE, because on April 12 the club celebrated its 10th anniversary. This year will remain in the club's history as one that changed a lot. At the end of 2007, it seemed that the Yellow-Blues were in for serious problems, because the team was left by the architect of the two previous victories in the national championship - head coach Igor Kriushenko. However, the success of his replacement Viktor Gancharenko was simply phenomenal: a sensational entry into the group stage of the Champions League - and the fifth BATE champion title!
